Dean Piper
Whidbey Island has been home
to the Piper’s since 1982 thanks to the Navy. Wanting to keep
the family here after 21 years as a Search and Rescue aircrewman,
his retirement in 1988 led him to the Hearth Industry. His 20
years of experience has been gained working with the inventor of
the pellet stove, Jerry Whitfield and later covering the entire
New England region for Lennox Hearth Products as the only field
technician in the area. In 2004 the decision was made not to
make the move to New England and the dream of opening his own
Retail and Service company was founded. Anacortes was chosen as
the ideal location because of its easy access to all of the
surrounding islands. Free time is spent riding motorcycles and
the never ending renovation of their 1900’s farmhouse in Oak
Harbor. |

Connie Piper
Raising 2 boys, both of whom
are now grown, serve in the Air Force and Marines, and have
families of their own, Nursing, and being a part of the Navy
reserves for 24 years as an aircrewman and a Command Master
Chief have kept her busy. Running the Retail side of the
business has added new skills and an entire new dimension to her
life. Making an appliance a central part of the home décor and
helping customers in design choices as well as ensuring heating
needs are being met makes the job challenging and truly
enjoyable. Free time is spent riding motorcycles, renovating
the house, and gardening. |
